About us
Pledge2Recycle Plastics is the national plastics recycling initiative with the aim to reduce confusion around plastic recycling.
Our mission and vision
Our mission is to promote consistency, remove confusion and increase plastics collected for recycling through education, communication and consistent messages.
Our vision is that all recyclable plastics are collected for recycling. Plastic is a sustainable and circular resource, but positive consumer behaviour change is central to tackling ongoing ambitious targets and circular economy aspirations.
What we do
Pledge2Recycle Plastics specialises in bringing together stakeholders to a common goal of developing plastics recycling communications. Using RECOUP’s wide network of members we are able to ask the experts and find the facts behind the headlines and provide evidence-based responses to many plastic recycling questions.
Pledge2Recycle Plastics provides and supports communications on household plastic recycling by:
- Agreeing a common language for plastics recycling to reduce consumer confusion around plastic recycling.
- Developing resources to support plastics recycling education for organisations, communities and schools.
- Educating all ages on plastic recycling through supporting schools, events, local authorities, communities and RECOUP members to educate about plastics recycling.
The advice and information that Pledge2Recycle Plastics give to the community on plastics recycling is based on the fact of what happens to plastics recycled via kerbside household collections and household waste recycling centres.
