Local authorities

Support for local authorities to cut the confusion around plastics recycling for residents.

Pledge2Recycle Plastics and local authorities

Citizens continue to be confused by plastics packaging and what can and cannot be recycled. As we move towards consistency in collections kerbside, there is a need for consistency in messages and language. Local Authorities are a trusted source of information on recycling for citizens so it is important that this message is accurate, concise and consistent.

How Pledge2Recycle Plastics can help

A range of readily available resources have been developed by Pledge2Recycle Plastics to assist communication to citizens when it comes to understanding plastic recycling. We also have a strong history of working with local authorities on targeted communications for specific areas including aspects such as leaflet distribution to households, consumer insight work, social media support, presentations to local groups and schools engagement and competitions.

Easter Recycling Assets

Did you know that each year at Easter, the UK uses 7,500 miles of wrapping paper, sends 10 million Easter cards and uses 160 tonnes of foil packaging. Not only that, but a staggering 8 million hot cross buns are wasted, 8 million Easter eggs are uneaten and Easter Sunday lunch results in 5 million slices of roast meat, 19 million roast potatoes and 20 million portions of veg being left over! (Business Waste, 2025).

We have created social media assets to promote recycling and reduce food waste this Easter. In addition, we have developed school resources to teach young people to recycle right and get creative with left over egg shells and food.
