Support for local authorities to cut the confusion around plastics recycling for residents.
Citizens continue to be confused by plastics packaging and what can and cannot be recycled. As we move towards consistency in collections kerbside, there is a need for consistency in messages and language. Local Authorities are a trusted source of information on recycling for citizens so it is important that this message is accurate, concise and consistent.
A range of readily available resources have been developed by Pledge2Recycle Plastics to assist communication to citizens when it comes to understanding plastic recycling. We also have a strong history of working with local authorities on targeted communications for specific areas including aspects such as leaflet distribution to households, consumer insight work, social media support, presentations to local groups and schools engagement and competitions.

Did you know that each year on Valentine’s Day, the UK sends around 25 million cards, uses approximately 13,500 miles of gift wrap, generates an additional 7,500 tonnes of plastic packaging and 17,000 tonnes of cardboard from online shopping & boxes of chocolates (Business Waste, 2024). Plus, we send a staggering 220 million roses! (Floral Daily, 2024)
We have created a simple set of social media assets and messages to help you help your residents recycle right on Valentine’s Day. There’s also a sustainable valentine’s day school assembly too!
